El Salvador Project Team Presentation

Today we visited the presentation from a group of students that spend two months in El Salvador carrying out a project as a part of their studies at the HAN. It was quite a frightening event if you consider us helding a similar presentation about our project one year from now on.
They had put a lot of effort in their project and shared it with us by showing loads of photo and video captures. They also interacted with the audience which made things really interesting. On stage they build up a cage with real chicken and used that area as part of their role playing.

In the break we had a conversation with Simon Gebert who was part of that project team. We asked him about the the greatest problem and nicest experience they faced during their work on the project. He mentioned that they had a couple of fights that were triggered by the fact that they had to live together on such narrow ground. But he was amazed by how many new and great experiences he made getting to know a culture that lives a completely different life compared to us. We believe that we probably also will experience those aspects and are glad to be warned in advance.

So all in all it was a stunning occurrence that helped us realize what we are heading for during our work on the project. We could catch some basic presentation methods that we could put into good use for our own presentation.

MINOR ONLY!

During the last two weeks it became clear that most people are only interested in the foreign minor... that's actually quite frustrating! Now we spend so much time in finding new members for the team and there are only a few left that want to leave the country in their project period. But you know what: We are not about to give up yet! Until today our member count reads 3 (Carina, Thomas and Daniel)

PS: Info meeting with Jürgen Tönnesen was really helpful. We could find out more about general requirements.

Determined!

All interested students will meet up with Jürgen Tönnesen upcoming monday and tuesday...

Succeeded...again!

Perfect! So the two meetings are over and we wrote down some notes about everybody. Interesting people! And we all shared the same feeling...excitement!...about going abroad. We also have all the contact information we need to stay in touch with everybody. The upcoming days we're gonna be busy checking all of them out and find the right people for the project.

Most people requested more information about the 4th year of studying than we could offer. Since all of these questions also got stuck up in our heads now we are going to arrange a meeting with Jürgen Tönnesen. As a coordinator of an abroad minor he will be able to answer most of our questions.

A huge response!

Amazing! It's just a few days ago since we forwarded the e-mail via Petra Weisgerber and we already got about 20 people that are interested either in foreign minor or a project abroad. That is just excellent. If we don't loose our luck now it's gonna be easy to find other members for our project...

We sheduled two Get-to-knows for the upcoming monday (05.09.2011) and tuesday (06.09.2011). Everybody will get the chance to introduce himself/herself. We'll see where this goes...

Giving it another shot...

Today we contacted Petra Weisgerber in search for help. She forwarded an e-mail to all 3rd-year-students (2011/2012). In this e-mail we made our fellow students the offer to meet up and talk about a possible trip to a foreign country while working in a projekt. Let's see if we can convince some fellas to join us...

- Dienstag").

Hier meine Kontaktdaten: daniel.mackenbrock@gmail.com Handy: ...

Big break!

Nothing happened for a long time because the first team work did not work out as expected.
